Clean indoor air possible solutions

What you don’t see can actually make you sick. Polluted outdoor air is not the only carrier of air-borne diseases. Indoor air can also be unsafe. But there are possible solutions to minimize our exposure to polluted air.

It’s true that there’s no existing single global standard for clean air. But we do need to maintain a certain level of air quality for good health and well-being. We all know that the air quality outdoors is poor due to traffic exhaust, emissions from industries, and other factors. And we cannot be sure that the air quality inside our homes is clean, either. Studies even show that indoor air quality is two to five times more polluted than the air outside.

But instead of brooding over it, let’s look at the brighter side. There’s actually a solution to that! I know of a handful of ways to purify our indoor air.

  • One, you may put air-purifying plants inside your house. (Check my previous blog on this). I’ve listed there some common plants. They might be even growing right in your garden without you knowing it. Those plants are cheap and easy to maintain. We should be grateful to Mother Nature for providing us with plants that absorb harmful chemicals and contaminants.
  • Another option is to regularly clean the filter of our air conditioner. Doing it once a month ensures an unrestricted and cleaner airflow.
  • Third, you can install an air purifier that removes air pollutants.

Breathing cleaner air reduces your risks of respiratory diseases, heart problem, stroke, and lung cancer. We know that the most expensive bed is a hospital bed. And no one wants to lay on it! So, let’s take the necessary precautions now.

Some air purifier manufacturers have developed a technology that efficiently removes air contaminants. One is the maker of Blueair. The company’s Blueair 203 HEPASilent Air Purifier model has a multi-stage filtration and performs with the highest Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) ratings for its class. And, it’s an Energy Star-qualified, too.

Check out your local appliance supplier and choose the best unit that suits your air purifier needs. It’s even a lot hassle-free if you order your unit online. Blueair is available in Amazon and Lazada-Philippines.
