On the lighter side of things
Geese can be naughty or nice. They charge at anyone without provocation, testing your running ability.
Have you experienced being chased by a goose? Well, I think if you have gone to an animal farm, you know what I’m talking about.
I’m sharing this just for the fun of it. I mean, adult life is heavy with things to attend to, sometimes making us forget the beauty and the little “funny challenges” of childhood. It’s nice to take a break from time to time – and it’s healthy for our well-being, too! – to just sit back, relax, and reminisce the little fun memories that we may have had.
Speaking of childhood, I think one of the most “horrible” challenges that happened to me was when a goose charged at me. I say horrible because I never thought a goose can run so fast. I thought it just walks and wades in the water. it also made me realize that I was very poor at running.
Unsuspecting and innocent that I was, I thought all domestic animals were friendly. I was silently admiring the neighborhood farm animals on their daily grind when a goose noticed me. It must have thought I was a good playmate that it started running towards my direction. Scared at how massive its body was, I attempted to run away. But it was too late! The bird was rather nimble and fast (and was it furious too?). It successfully caught my dress. All I could do was scream my lungs out until its owner came to the rescue.
And, it was “horrible” for me because all those who witnessed my ordeal were laughing, including the one who rescued me! Well, as I look back at that scene on the farm, I couldn’t help but smile. It was indeed funny! Maybe, geese just want to test a human’s speed in running. And, I realize, I was just a poor runner!
